Ofsted Report
In February 2024 Amy Irish and Gemma Hodgkins received a registration visit from Ofsted after taking over the nursery as The Jays Day Care Ltd. We await our first full inspection.
Prior to Amy and Gemma's ownership The Jays Day Care Nursery had an OFSTED inspection on 11.5.22 received a well-deserved ‘GOOD’ outcome.
OFSTED recognise that ‘children feel happy and secure’ noting that ‘children thrive from close attachments with kind staff’. They also see that ‘all children make progress’.
OFSTED reported that parents spoke 'highly of the setting' and felt 'informed of their children's progress' and enjoyed looking at the online digital application commenting how this communication 'helps their children to make progress at home'.

OFSTED also said that although we do a lot of work in helping children develop their independence and maximise their learning opportunities but felt that we could improve in this area particularly if we wanted to gain an outstanding grade.
Following these recommendations, we are extending opportunities for independence to children as they arise and are taking up training opportunities for staff to extend their knowledge.
