Welcome to The Jays Day Nursery, Preschool and Outdoor Learning

The Jays Day Care Nursery and Pre-School has been open since September 1995, providing quality child care for children aged 3 months to school age either all year round or term time only. The children are grouped into Babies (3 months – 24 months), Toddlers (24 months – 36 months)  and Pre-Schoolers  (36 months – school). Each group has their own dedicated room and room leader. 


Each  leader  co-ordinates activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. We also run a Term Time Forest School several times per week for our Toddlers in the morning and Pre-School children in the afternoon. 


All staff are encouraged to attend regular training. We and most are qualified Nursery Nurses or Nursery Assistants and several who have early years teacher status, all who have vast experience in childcare. The Principal is a qualified teacher and nurse. We are a friendly group who are totally committed to offering the very best of care and education as well as a safe, warm and caring environment for your child.


We are OFSTED registered , members of the NDNA (National Day Nurseries Association) and also have close links with the Early Years and Childcare Service.


We have links with local schools in Ivybridge and the surrounding area including Stowford, Manor Way, Woodlands, South Brent, Ermington, Ugborough, The Erme, Diptford, Ashburton, Buckfast, Buckfastleigh, Liverton, Landscove, Blackpool and more.


We are situated 10 miles from Plymouth and 25 miles from Exeter just off of the A38 at Bittaford, Moorhaven near Ivybridge.
