Mealtimes

Meal times are a social occasion, relaxed and an opportunity to not only eat delicious food but to learn manners and social skills. Staff are encouraged to sit with the children and encourage and initiate conversation and make mealtimes fun.

Water is offered at every mealtime and is accessible to all older children throughout the day with the use of sports bottles. Babies and Toddlers are offered water in between mealtimes to ensure all children are kept hydrated.

Baby Weaning

Baby Weaning is an important time in a child’s life as they start to discover food. We always follow your babies usual feeding routine under 12 months, then integrate our nursery routine of mealtimes too. Your babies stage of weaning will be discussed with you so we can work together to integrate new foods.

Dietary Requirements

Dietary requirements for all allergies, special needs or cultural/religious reasons are catered for individually with strict measures in place. Our cook has many years of experience and will plan every meal with care and attention.

Health

Health is at the heart of our menus, and we ensure we have planned each day with a good balance of all food groups. When it is appropriate, age and stage staff talk to the children about keeping their teeth and mouth healthy. We always welcome new ideas so please let us know if your child has any family favourites we could add to our menu.
